We arrived at Cradle Valley in excited...
And got to know each other over a convivial...
The next morning we ascended through the...
and climbed it!
Jayden, John, Cade, Robert and Paul at the...
We had many great views of Barn Bluff ...
from all along the track ...
except when we wanted to climb it.
After leaving Waterfall Valley ...
we traversed misty alpine moorland dotted...
lined with ancient pencil pines.
with views of the surrounding peaks
We crossed Pine Forest Moor on the boardwalk...
which saved us from wading through the mud ...
Each night we camped on tent platforms,...
Helen, Tracey and Carol visited Old Pelion...
Cade took a rest at Du Cane Hut
past gardens of cushion plants ...
and admired the view of Frenchman's Cap.
Robert, Tracey, Paul, Jayden, Cade on the...
Sometimes the track took us over the tree...
Or along carefully crafted and split logs,
newly laid rock paths through the alpine...
old corded tracks ...
and some muddy sections.
Walking on ...
We passed small waterfalls
medium ...
and large ones
We walked through forests of myrtle beech
with leatherwood in flower,
deciduous beech,
sassafras,
celery top pine,
pandani forest
and a range of eucalypts
We saw wombats, wallabies, possums, a few...
and a yabbie
As we left Pine Valley near the end of the...
