24 Jan 2016: Castlemaine - Vaughan Springs
Photos:
Robert Ian Mair, Kay Mar
We were soon off the bus and getting ready...
It started off easy through the dry bush...
Who said water runs along a level course....
Near the top of our first climb.
Now we are following the level water-race!
It was a deep channel.
The whip kept a watchful eye on the group...
We paused to check out an old mine tunnel.
The Incredible Hulk was here!
On our way up to the top of The Monk.
Old mine field
Easy Group
Checking out the Spring Gully mine site.
Continuing on our way towards Fryerstown.
Up and down the gully sides.
Checking out the mullock heap near the...
Lunch at the battery site.
Was bushfire here?
There was an antiques fiar in progress in...
The Mechanics Institute looked busier than...
Time to move on towards Vauhghan Springs.
Up and down more gullies.
Going up was slower.
The track swept high above the river as it...
Drinking the waters.
Must have been something in the water!
