06 Mar 2026: Lake Tali Karng and Wellington Plain via Wellington River
Photos:
Mark SIMPSON, Bernadette YOUNG
Starting off Saturday over the Wellington...
There were rolling hills
...and lots of dubious looking rolling clouds
-
The afternoon clouds closed in as we set off...
Setting off the next day still wet and cloudy
Down at Tali Karng the sun had come out as...
Our leader took a quiet moment
Soon, we were off around the lake to Snowden...
Lake Tali Karng
There was plenty of rock hopping
Our campsites were all very comfortable
The weather was warming up.
Many crossings of the river followed.
Views were great.A long lunch was relaxing
There was time for a swim
All too soon the final paddle was over !
Saturday camp at Nyimba
Descending out of the clouds
View of Tali Karng from the falls
Our first river crossing
